All eyes are on the future and at HSTK HeadQuarters our eyes are firmly fixed on building a Sustainable Living Community. Currently we have 60 people including students, staff and volunteers. Our aim is to develop a community project that consists of 3 major areas – building design & construction, innovative farming techniques and education.
Our desire is to enrich the lives of all those involved and make a significant contribution to the local community through demonstration and training. Using as many natural resources from the environment as possible, and will also use leading edge technologies. We want to create a centre that is a working model we could replicate in other struggling communities along the border of Thailand and Burma.
Building Design & Construction
Stage one of development is to secure land large enough for this project. We are currently raising funds to purchase a block of land (approx. 11.86 acres) If you would like to partner with us in this exciting project please go to donate and give today.
Innovative Farming Techniques
Stage two is to commence agriculture and land development. We currently have volunteers training in permaculture and integrative organic farming methods. We aim to improve the current farming methods used in the local area and introduce new farming techniques to ensure enough sustainable foods for the future.
Stage three of development is to build the education and training centre. For this community initiative, to work we will also look at sustainable and cost-effective ways of building. With natural materials and utilizing natural resources we aim to build energy-efficient homes and training facilities, with a keen focus on solar energy, water conservation and good sanitation.
